Texas’ second Junior Day boasted some big names, but yielded no new commitments as of Sunday.
Saturday, Texas offered scholarships to Abilene defensive end Jake McMillon, New Orleans St. Augustine cornerback Jermaine Roberts, and West Mesquite safety Dylan Sumner-Gardner, according to burntorangenation.com.
Mount Pleasant wide receiver Kd Cannon, who is regarded as one of the best wide receiver prospects in the nation, also attended. Cannon has not indicated a preferred school, although he tweeted that he “had a great time at Texas.”
Jasper center Terrell Cuney was one of the other top prospects in attendance. Undersized for a center at 260 pounds, schools are after Cuney for his elite athleticism. Cuney is the most likely candidate for Texas’ next verbal commitment.
New Orleans St. Augustine running back Leonard Fournette did not attend Junior Day, despite earlier reports that said he would be there. Rivals.com rates Fournette as the nation’s best running back, and third-best prospect overall.
