Head coach Karen Aston earned her 200th career win on Saturday as the No. 15 Longhorns took down TCU, 83-54, at the Frank Erwin Center.

Aston, who’s in the midst of her fifth season on the 40 Acres, carries a 99–50 record as Texas’ head coach and is one win away from the 100-win milestone with the program.

The Longhorns (10–4, 4–0 Big 12) handed the Horned Frogs (8–7, 0–4 Big 12) their fourth-straight loss, leaving them as one of three Big 12 teams that have yet to pick up a conference victory.

On the flip side, the victory train keeps rolling for the Longhorns as they stay perfect in conference play and extend their winning streak to eight. Texas is one of three teams that remain unbeaten in Big 12 play.

The Longhorns grabbed the reigns from the opening tip, jumping out to an early lead they would never relinquish. Texas led from start to finish and increased its lead over TCU as the game proceeded. Texas took an 11-point lead into halftime that did nothing but grow in the third and fourth periods.

TCU’s starting five, who came into Austin averaging 46.2 points per game, were held to six points in the first half and 25 total. TCU’s second leading scorer, forward Amy Okonkwo, was the lone starter to put points on the board for the Horned Frogs before halftime.

The Longhorns stood strong on the defensive end and halted the Horned Frogs' ability to move the ball by limiting them to a mere six assists.

Freshman forward Joyner Holmes registered one of her best games as a Longhorn as she posted a game-high 18 points on 9–16 shooting. Holmes, who has committed a team-high 37 personal fouls on the season, recorded zero personal fouls and eight rebounds against the Horned Frogs in an efficient performance under the basket.

Junior guards Brooke McCarty and Ariel Atkins joined Holmes with double-digit points, scoring 16 and 14, respectively.

The Longhorns will stay home through the weekend as they prepare to take on Oklahoma State on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Erwin Center.
