Good news for Texas defense

Defensive coordinator Todd Orlando’s contract was approved by the Board of Regents on Feb. 22. Orlando has earned a $1.7 million salary increase through 2021. It’d be nice to see Orlando stay through the entire contract, but if his defensive performance continues in 2018, it’ll be tough to keep him.

‘Jimbo effect’ impacting 2019 recruiting for Texas A&M


The Aggies have been able to land several top recruits including five-star safety Brian Williams, four-star safety Demani Richardson and four-star wide receiver Kam Brown. The recruits must remember head coach Jimbo Fisher’s 2013-14 national championship or former Florida State star quarterback Jameis Winston’s athletic success.

Over the past few days, A&M’s new tight ends coach Tim Brewster’s Twitter game has taken the internet by storm, rustling up plenty of disagreeing responses. Some people had savage words to add, much to the amusement of Longhorns. In addition, Bryan Carrington, Texas assistant director of player personnel, responded with a Lebron GIF , Oklahoma state’s head coach Mike Gundy expressed how silly he thought the tweet was, and Oklahoma co-offensive coordinator Cale Gundy posted a few emojis.
