The Austin Police Department responded to a report of a kidnapping in West Campus at 24th and San Antonio streets, according to a campuswide email.
APD received a report that a man wearing a red hoodie driving a black sedan kidnapped a woman at gunpoint, according to the email. The last known direction of travel was east toward Guadalupe Street, according to the email.
The UT Police Department was alerted of the report at 7:46 p.m. It is unknown whether the victim or suspect are affiliated with UT, according to the email.
UTPD referred a request for comment to APD, who did not respond before publication.
APD is currently investigating this incident and encourages anyone with more information to call 911, according to the text.
