P. Terry’s Burger Stand will be opening its first location near UT next semester, the company announced Friday in a press release.
The burger stand will replace a former Taco Ranch at 517 W. MLK Blvd. The company will close the Taco Ranch location Friday and will begin remodeling it into the burger stand next week.
The new location will include patios, dine-in seating and drive-thru lanes. The Austin-based restaurant has been renowned for serving burgers and fries using natural ingredients and cooking from scratch since 2005.
“We are excited to give the UT campus and its neighboring businesses a P. Terry’s of their own,” P. Terry’s CEO Todd Coerver said in the press release. “Our anticipated spring opening is one of several new locations slated for 2020 as we continue our expansion in Austin and beyond.”
The current Taco Ranch employees will be able to work at the Taco Ranch located at 5033 W. U.S. Highway 290 Service Road or another P. Terry’s location, according to the press release.
“As much as we love Taco Ranch, as a company with all eyes on expanding P. Terry’s, it just made sense to have a presence at the University of Texas,” said Patrick Terry, P. Terry’s and Taco Ranch co-founder.
