Fifth-year defensive lineman Keondre Coburn declared for the NFL draft on Thursday evening. Coburn just finished his fifth year with the Longhorns and was named Second Team All-Big 12 by Big 12 coaches and the Associated Press after putting up 28 tackles, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble.

The Houston product played in 50 career games with 44 starts. This past season, he played in 12 games, starting 11 of them. In his last game for Texas, Coburn had two tackles and one pass breakup against Washington in the Valero Alamo Bowl.

Coburn is currently projected to be selected late in the first round by Pro Football Focus due to his outstanding ability to move at his size and rush the quarterback.

Coburn was a leader both on and off the field as well as the heart of the Longhorn’s defensive line. In a graphic posted to his Instagram and Twitter accounts, Coburn indicated that he made this decision with family in mind.

“This next step is for my daughter,” Coburn said in a post.
