Texas announced on Thursday that it’ll play three future games with Rice.
Texas, who beat Rice 42-28 in September, will head to Houston to play the Owls in 2019 at NRG Stadium in Houston. Rice will travel to Austin play the Longhorns in 2021 and 2023. The meetings between these two teams historically fall in the Longhorns’ favor. Texas has won the last 13 meetings since 1994 by an average margin of 28 points. Overall, the Longhorns lead the all-time series 72-21-1. Texas also added a home contest against Louisiana Tech to the 2019 football schedule. It will mark the first matchup between the two football programs. While specific dates have not been chosen yet, Rice and Louisiana Tech are in good company among the teams Texas has already added to its non-conference schedule.
The Longhorns’ schedule includes future matchups with LSU in 2019 and 2020, as well as a Rose Bowl rematch with USC in 2017 and 2018.
