Longhorns finish sixth in Hawaii tournament

The Longhorns shot a week-low 297 in the final round of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawaii on Tuesday, placing them in fourth place.

Texas was led by Julia Beck, who carded a 1-under par score for the tournament and finished in sixth — her third top-ten of her career and second of the season.

Sophomore Sophia Schubert finished four shots back of Beck, ending the week at 3-over and in a tie for 11th. Senior Natalie Karcher rounded out the Longhorns in the top 15 with 4-over par score for a tie for 13th.

Junior Haley Mills and freshman Maddie Luitewieler finished out the Longhorns’ team score, with scores of 9-over and 13-over.

Oklahoma State and Texas A&M finished in a tie atop the team leaderboard with a score of 4-under, the only two teams to end the tournament under par. Aggies junior Thanya Pattamakijsakul won the individual competition with an 8-under par score.

The Longhorns finish out their regular season on April 8–10 at the Ping ASU Invitational in Tempe, Arizona.
