Texas men’s golf grabbed its first victory of the season on Sunday at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate.
The Longhorns tied with Virginia for first place at eight strokes under par, thanks in part to a stunning performance by senior Gavin Hall. Hall’s final round of 63 was the lowest of the tournament and he finished in a tie for 4th place. Hall had a bogey-free round and sunk nine birdies on the day. Junior Doug Ghim remained steady throughout the weekend, finishing 3rd at seven under par.
Junior Scottie Scheffler finished in a tie for 16th, while Junior Taylor Funk and sophomore Steven Chervony finished tied for 63rd and 79th, respectively.
The Longhorns will conclude their fall season at the East Lake Cup, which begins on Oct. 31. The tournament will be televised live on the Golf Channel.
