No. 26 Texas travels to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, this weekend to take on Wake Forest and close out February in dual match play. The Longhorns improved to a 6-5 record after shutting out Rice University last weekend, 4-0.
Three doubles matches and six singles matches will be played in regular dual-match style. Junior George Goldhoff and redshirt freshman Julian Zlobinsky have been strong in doubles play with a 6-4 record. In singles, Zlobinsky also has 7-1 record and is one of six new additions to the roster this season.
Senior Michael Riechmann and sophomore Adrian Ortiz have been edging out opponents this season and hold a 7-3 record for doubles dual-match play. In singles, Ortiz is off to a strong start with a 5-3 record including wins over a pair of ranked opponents. Ortiz knocked off Washington’s No. 121 Jake Douglas and UCSB’s No. 81 Nicolas Moreno earlier this season when Texas traveled to Seattle.
Match play against the Demon Deacon’s begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
