Young pleads no contest, sentenced to probation

Former Texas quarterback Vince Young pleaded no contest and was sentenced to 18 months probation on Thursday. The Travis County court also issued the Texas legend a $300 fine and 60 months of community service for his DWI arrest on Jan. 24, 2016.

Young must also complete a drunk driving class, and he has a breathalyzer in his car that won't start the ignition if it detects alcohol on his breath.

The incident nearly one year ago occurred when Young was pulled over on the I-35 service road. He said he had “three or four beers,” but his blood-alcohol level came out to be 0.15 — more than two times the legal limit.

Young is still employed by the university, where he works in the development office. He also works for Longhorn Network and can be seen on the channel’s pre and post-game coverage.
