A team that was hopeful of making its second straight trip to the College World Series entering 2019 has lost four of its last six games. 

David Pierce and his squad have no time to dwell on the series loss against TCU this past weekend that was highlighted by two blown leads late in games. The Longhorns return to action Tuesday night in San Antonio to face Incarnate Word for a non-conference mid-week game.

Although some batters left Disch-Falk Field bruised after both teams combined for eight hits by pitches, the Longhorns left with a 7-6 win as well.

With a series win over the Red Raiders, Texas also starts its campaign 2–1 in Big 12 play. The Longhorns were able to secure the win with quality plays from shortstop Masen Hibbeler and solid arms in the bullpen.
