Withstanding foul trouble, a road crowd and a late run by Kansas State, Texas women’s basketball closed out a win in the “Little Apple” of Manhattan, Kansas, for the Longhorns’ third road win of the season, beating the Wildcats 71-63.
In last year’s game on the road against the Oklahoma State Cowboys, the Longhorns went into halftime down by 17 points with little chance to mount a comeback. Yet the team fought their way back to a three-point loss. This year, Texas was the dominant squad, winning 76-64.
When Iowa State went up 11-0 during the first quarter of its game against Texas on Monday, the Longhorns looked outmatched. But the Longhorns eventually found a rhythm, running away with the game in their 81-75 comeback win in Ames, Iowa.
