Heading into Saturday’s matchup in Lawrence, Texas and Kansas are the only remaining undefeated teams in conference play, but the two teams have taken different paths to get there.
When this week’s two college basketball polls were released, the voters had a tough time distinguishing between the No. 10 and No. 11 ranked teams. The AP voters had the Longhorns 10th and the Aggies right behind them at 11th. The Coaches had it switched around.
It’s hard to compare this year’s team with the one from last season.
For starters, the 2009-10 squad had three eventual NBA draft picks, not to mention a top-5 recruiting class. They reached No. 1 in the nation for the first time in school history.
The only things missing from Jordan Hamilton’s performance in Saturday’s win over Oklahoma were a cape and red block-letter ‘S’ emblazoned on his chest.
