Since the pandemic forced classes online, UT spent a little over $195,000 on paper in 2020 from March to October. The University spent over $1 million over the same months in 2018 and 2019.
Dr. Mark Escott, interim Austin-Travis County medical director and health authority, said Travis County residents should abandon all travel for the holidays.
The winning team’s proposal for Childress, Texas, includes adding a historical museum, events center and startup incubator to the Childress Hotel as well as hosting an annual Childress County festival.
After the café closed indefinitely, 13 affiliated employees were given the option to go on furlough or leave. The Texas State Employees Union is advocating against the decision.
The resolution will go to UT President Jay Hartzell and Daniel Jaffe, interim executive vice president and provost, for final approval, a council member said.
The coalition is also asking UT to end its collaborations with the military and any compliance with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement guidelines.
