Compare the Longhorns’ play this month to that of last month and it will seem as if something doesn’t really add up. But don’t be fooled by Texas, the current holder of a five-game conference winning streak. It did start Big 12 play at 0-4.
For Texas, rebounding consistently has been a struggle. But Saturday, the Longhorns (15-7, 4-4 Big 12) won the rebound battle against Kansas, doing so for the first time since their mid-January loss to Oklahoma.
At halftime, Texas women’s basketball coach Gail Goestenkors was not pleased with her team, clinging to a one-point lead in a dog fight of a first half. Her squad was being out-rebounded, outshot and out-worked.
