After a disappointing 18th place finish at the Wisconsin Invitational, the Texas men’s cross country team returned to action at the Big 12 Championship in Waco on Nov. 2.

Texas placed third with 80 points in the team standings and qualified for the NCAA South Regional.

The Longhorns were led by Ryan Dohner, who finished in fourth place with a time of 22:57.1, and Craig Lutz in sixth.

With their great finishes, Dohner and Lutz earned All-Big 12 honors.

Other runners for Texas were junior Mark Pinales, who finished in 24th, followed by Collin Smith in 25th, Chris Galvin in 26th, Austin Roth in 28th, Eduardo Rodriguez in 33rd, Will Nation in 38th and Nate Moore in 45th.

Oklahoma State won their sixth consecutive Big 12 Championship, Iowa State finished in second and Texas Tech’s Kennedy Kithuka won the Big 12 individual title.
