Texas, Baylor tied 3-3 at halftime

With a Big 12 title and trip to the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl on the line, No. 25 Texas and No. 9 Baylor entered the locker room at halftime tied 3-3.

Junior running back Malcolm Brown was the lone bright spot on offense for Texas, racking up 118 rushing yards on 17 carries. Senior quarterback Case McCoy did not enjoy as much success, completing just seven of his 19 attempts for 38 yards, an average of two yards per pass.

Baylor entered the game leading the nation in scoring at 55.4 points per game, but they failed to score after connecting on a field goal on their first drive. Junior quarterback Bryce Petty completed 13 of his 23 passes for 170 yards, but the Bears offense was held down by a running game that averaged only 3.3 yards per carry.

Both teams could have scored more points if not for missed field goals. Senior kicker Aaron Jones missed a pair of attempts in the half, while senior kicker Anthony Fera’s first attempt was blocked.

With No. 17 Oklahoma defeating No. 6 Oklahoma State earlier in the day, the winner of this game clinches the outright conference title.
