Valero Alamo Bowl halftime report: Longhorns trail Ducks 20-7

Mack Brown’s last stand at the Alamodome started shaky for Texas after a Case McCoy pick six but the Longhorns were able to keep it close against No. 10 Oregon for most of the first half. At the close of the first 30 minutes, Texas trails the Ducks 20-7 in its season finale in San Antonio.

Texas’ defense looked strong for most drives as it was able to hold the Ducks’ offense to just two field goals until Oregon added another seven with 44 seconds left in the half.

Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota ran for 132 yards to lead his team in rushing, tallying 117 more yards than another other running back on his squad.

For Texas, Malcolm Brown recorded 113 yards to lead his offense. Texas’ only strong drive came in the first quarter after a 7:12 minute push to register its only points of the first half.

Case McCoy has completed just five of his 12 passes for 31 yards.
