Breckyn Hager finally got a haircut.
As a freshman, Hager made a promise in 2015 that he wouldn't cut his hair until Texas won a Big 12 Championship. The senior defensive end doubled down at Big 12 Media Days this past July.
“I’m gonna let (Sam) Ehlinger (cut it), I’m gonna let (Andrew) Beck, I'm gonna let (Todd Orlando) — I'm gonna let everyone get a piece because it’s gonna be historic,” Hager said. “And then I’m gonna put it all in a Ziploc bag and donate it to Locks of Love.”
Texas didn't win the Big 12. But after the team defeated then-No. 5 Georgia in the Sugar Bowl en route to the Longhorns' highest AP poll finish since 2009, it was finally time for the locks to come off.
Matthew McConaughey did the honors.
