No. 7 Texas earned the Big 12 automatic qualifier bid on Saturday night after it rattled No. 3 Kansas, 76-56, to win the conference tournament.

Texas will head to Des Moines for the first round of the NCAA tournament to face No. 15-seed Colgate.

Colgate clinched its ticket to the Big Dance by winning the Patriot League conference tournament, defeating Lafayette 79-61. This marks the Raiders third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. Colgate lost 67-60 to Wisconsin in the 2022 NCAA Tournament 1st Round.

Texas will return to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth year in a row. This will be the Longhorns’ first tournament appearance under interim head coach Rodney Terry. Last season, Texas won its first NCAA Tournament game since 2014. Under Chris Beard, Texas beat No. 11 seed Virginia Tech in the first round before falling to No. 3 seed Purdue in the second round.
