With classes already underway, campus is filled with events to enjoy after the winter break. From academic events to entertainment at the Moody Center, The Daily Texan compiled a list of noteworthy happenings around campus the rest of this month.
January 21 through January 30 – Particles of Color Fashion Exhibit
Visit the Texas Science & Natural History Museum to see the Particles of Color: Where Science Meets Fashion exhibit. Led by associate professor Jessica Ciarla and her students in the Division of Textiles and Apparel, the exhibit displays the work of an interdisciplinary research team including student work that blends sustainability with fashion.
January 23 – Women’s Basketball vs. Tennessee at the Moody Center
Watch the Texas women’s basketball team take on the No. 15 Tennessee Lady Volunteers at 8 p.m. at the Moody Center.
January 24 – WWE Friday Night SmackDown at the Moody Center
Come witness one of the most exciting nights in entertainment this January with the World Wrestling Entertainment’s infamous Friday Night SmackDown, featuring stars like Cody Rhodes, Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and people can find tickets online at ticketmaster.com. Whether for a seasoned WWE follower or fresh member of the fandom, the Friday Night SmackDown promises entertainment all around.
January 25 – Men’s Basketball vs. Texas A&M at the Moody Center
The men’s basketball team hopes to secure a win against Texas A&M at the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown on Saturday at the Moody Center. Expecting a large crowd for the matchup, fans should plan to get to the stadium early to cheer on Arthur Kaluma and the team against one of UT’s bitter rivals.
January 29 – McCombs Career Expo at the RecSports Center
Whether looking for a summer internship or a full-time post graduate position, the McCombs Career Expo hosts many companies and resources to find employment opportunities. Held at the RecSports Center, the McCombs Career Expo will be open to McCombs students from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and subsequently open to all UT students during the remaining hours of 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The McCombs School of Business mandates that all students attending the expo must be dressed in business professional attire, so dress to impress!
