Wisconsin at No. 19 Alabama – 11:00 am on ABC
The Crimson Tide and the Badgers will meet for the second straight year in a Big 10-Southeastern Conference matchup. Last season, Wisconsin was blown out on its home turf; now the Badgers travel down to Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa in search of their first 3-0 start since 2019.
After an upset loss to Florida State on Aug. 30 and a shutout victory over Louisiana-Monroe, a second comfortable win at home could be the rejuvenation that Alabama needs ahead of a date with the Georgia Bulldogs later this month.
No. 6 Georgia at No. 15 Tennessee – 2:30 pm on ABC
At Neyland Stadium, the Volunteers host week three’s only matchup between teams that appeared in last season’s College Football Playoff.
Tennessee’s offense enters Saturday with 117 points scored through two games, while Georgia’s defense has limited its first two opponents to 201.5 yards per game and 13 points total. This SEC showdown could come down to whether it’s a high or low-scoring battle.
The Volunteers may have the edge if more points are on the board, but the Bulldogs may be more ready for a fierce barn-burner in Rocky Top.
Florida at No. 3 LSU – 6:30 pm on ABC
Following a heartbreaking, last-second loss to the University of South Florida at home, the Gators head west to take on the LSU Tigers in Death Valley.
In danger of dropping their second consecutive game, Florida will need its sophomore backfield tandem of quarterback DJ Lagway and running back Jadan Baugh at their best in a battle with LSU’s tough defense.
The Tigers are still riding their week one road win over Clemson, in which they held their opposition scoreless in the second half to earn a come-from-behind victory.
No. 16 Texas A&M at No. 8 Notre Dame – 6:30 pm on NBC
Another non-conference rematch from last year, Texas A&M will look to spoil Notre Dame’s home opener and put the 2024 national runner-up down 0-2 to start the season.
Marcus Freeman, Notre Dame’s head coach, will want his defense to restrict the playmaking capabilities of Texas A&M redshirt sophomore quarterback Marcel Reed, who has opened with eight touchdowns in two games.
The Fighting Irish will aim to establish its junior running back duo of Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price, after they were held to 78 combined rushing yards in the loss to Miami.
Vanderbilt at No. 11 South Carolina – 6:45 pm on SEC Network
The Commodores are preparing for a big test in their SEC opener, heading to Williams-Brice Stadium to face the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Graduate quarterback Diego Pavia has picked up where he left off last season, accumulating 468 passing yards and five touchdowns while adding over 100 yards on the ground, leading Vanderbilt to a 2-0 start. But waiting on the other side is redshirt sophomore quarterback LaNorris Sellers, who is out to prove himself as a top Heisman Trophy candidate and NFL prospect.
The Saturday night matchup in Columbia is another notable quarterback duel down in the south.
