Two College Republicans officers resigned Wednesday night after disagreement with the group’s SG executive alliance endorsement.
College Republicans President Justin May announced the group’s endorsement for the Abel Mulugheta and Sameer Desai campaign in spite of many members’ desire to support former College Republicans president Melanie Schwartz.
May said he publicly announced the endorsement committee, but only three people showed up to participate.
May said many members were angry about the decision and attended last night’s meeting to attempt an impeachment. Because many of them had not paid their dues, they were unable to speak. May moved to impeach historian Spencer Raley and spokesman Saul Mendoza because they “soiled the name of the club.”
