After a beautiful day at Lady Bird Lake, the Longhorns continued their fast start to the spring at the Heart of Texas regatta. The Texas varsity team took the top four spots in the eight final, while the novices swept the top three spots in the novice eight final.

The varsity 'B' lineup took first in the 1,000-meter sprint with a time of 3 minutes, 7.10 seconds, followed closely by the Texas varsity 'A' crew in second. The Longhorns' novice 'A' boat edged out the novice 'B' by two seconds with a time of 3 minutes, 45.20 seconds.

Other Texas collegiate crews at the regatta included Texas A&M, Baylor, and St. Edward’s. Texas was the only Division I team at the regatta.
