This weekend, the Longhorns boosted their chances to compete in the NCAA Indoor Championship.
Junior Jacob Thormaehlen did not let next week’s pressure affect him as he led the team in the Arkansas Final Qualifier, moving up to 10th place in the nation in shot put with a toss of 18.93 meters, finishing first.
Junior Kenny Greaves finished fourth in the pole vault with a jump of 5.09 meters and freshman Mark Jackson finished third in the triple jump at 15.23 meters.
In Indianapolis, the Longhorns finished eighth in the distance medley relay. Senior Danzell Fortson finished fourth in the 400 meter with a time of 47.36 seconds. The offical list of quailifiers for NCAA championships will be anounced Monday.
