The Longhorn Network announced it will exclusively carry two of Texas’ football games in the 2011 season.
The 24-hour all-access Longhorn channel, which launches on Aug. 26, will televise the Rice vs. Texas game in Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. The second is a Big 12 intra-conference game to be determined later in the season.
“We are thrilled to be able to bring not one but two games to Longhorns fans this year,” said Longhorn Network Vice President Stephanie Druley. “The Texas-Rice game is an exciting first for the network and demonstrates how we will provide the most comprehensive coverage of Texas football that fans have ever experienced.”
Specific plans as to how fans can subscribe to the network or what service provider will carry the channel have yet to be disclosed.
