Texas will participate in the Grass Routes Grand Prix on Friday at 8:15 p.m. at the Morris Williams Golf Course in Austin. The 8K race includes the University of Texas-Arlington, Concordia, Dallas Baptist, Lamar, Midwestern State, Houston, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Texas Tech all competing alongside the Longhorns.
Texas is currently ranked No. 24 in the nation and second in the South Central region, trailing only Arkansas out of the SEC and ahead of future SEC member A&M.
Lamar and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi are ranked 4th and 6th in the region, respectively. Houston is ranked 9th and Texas Tech is ranked 15th in the Mountain region.
This will be the first time competing since Sept. 1 for the Longhorns when they defeated the University of Texas-San Antonio in a dual meet format, 26-29. There they had three runners finish in the top five, with sophomore Ryan Dohner taking the individual title.
