After emerging the victors in their first meet of the year, the Longhorns are prepared to plow through their next test in the annual dual meet with Indiana and Michigan.
The men looked very strong in the Southwest Collegiate Plunge last weekend, bringing home the title for the third year in a row. After the final event was held, it was obvious that the Longhorns were poised for a remarkable year.
Coming into the season it was the hope of the Longhorns that all the classes would do their part and the team, a blend of youth and experience, looked very promising.
In the opening meet of the year, senior Neil Caskey and sophomore Patrick Murphy stole the show, winning two individual events and two relay events apiece.
Performances like these are more than welcome for the success of the team.
Heralded diver Matt Cooper won one of the two diving events in the Southwest Collegiate Plunge, showing that he’s ready to add to the success of the team as a whole.
The Longhorns hope to continue their dominance against the Hoosiers and Wolverines this weekend, just like they plan to do the entire season.
