The USA Today Coaches’ poll has the Longhorns at No. 10, which will factor into the eventual BCS rankings, which will be released in October. Alabama solidified its position at No. 1, picking up all but two of the first place votes. LSU moved up to No. 2 after Stanford’s upset over USC, who fell to No. 13, behind Texas. Two Big 12 members are ranked in the top 10, with Texas knocking on the door. Florida State jumped ahead a spot to No. 4, pushing Oklahoma to No. 6. West Virginia clocks in at No. 8, with Kansas State and TCU finishing out the Big 12 ranked at No. 15 and No. 17, respectively.
