With only two games left in the regular season, the recently crowned Big 12 champions are close to going 16-0 in conference play for the first time in Big 12 history. As a member of the Southwest Conference before the establishment of the Big 12, Texas went undefeated in conference play with a record of 10-0 nine separate times. The No. 3 Longhorns square off against West Virginia in their final regular-season home contest Saturday at 1 p.m. in Gregory Gym.
The Longhorns will be honoring Sha’Dare McNeal, the lone senior on the team, in the senior night celebrations. So far this season, McNeal has 148 kills and 71 blocks with a .320 hitting clip.
The West Virginia Mountaineers come to Austin this weekend without a conference win in their inaugural Big 12 season. They are 8-19 on the season and are currently riding a 13-game losing streak.
In their last outing, the Longhorns swept Texas Tech to clinch their fifth Big 12 title in six seasons. They are 22-3 on the season with a 14-0 Big 12 conference record.
