The No. 22 Longhorns found a groove last weekend with two Big 12 wins to start off conference play and will look to add another today.
Texas (6-7) hosts Iowa State (6-8) today at 2:00 p.m. in its third match of a nine-match home stand. After two losses to top 20 opponents Stanford and USC, the Longhorns rallied and won three straight matches, including wins over Oklahoma and Oklahoma State last weekend.
The three-match winning streak moved Texas up 17 spots in the ITA team rankings, from No. 39 to No. 22.
Five Longhorns enter today’s match with 2-0 singles records in conference play.
Aeriel Ellis, No. 42 in ITA singles rankings, should move up in the rankings. The two-time All-American failed to take advantage of top ten opponents but won three straight matches to improve her record to above .500.
The doubles tandem of Breaunna Addison and Noel Scott is No. 19 in the rankings. The pair won its first two matches in Big 12 play, and will look to move to .500 in dual match play, currently 6-7 on the season.
