The “Drives of Texas” were upon the Longhorns on their home turf as they captured first place in Sunday’s three-team match against Baylor and SMU. The top four players’ scores counted toward the team total as Texas finished atop the team leaderboard with a total of 309.
Longhorn seniors dominated the majority of the top four. Katelyn Sepmoree led the team as she scored a round low of 73. She finished as the top woman out of all participants in the triangular match. Desiree Dubreuil finished the match with a 76 while Madison Pressel entered the clubhouse with a round of 78. Sophomore Bertine Strauss scored an 82 to round out the top four for the Horns.
Junior Alyssa Morgan and freshmen Tezira Abe and Natalie Karcher finished with a round of 87, 89 and 85, respectively.
In the triangular match, Baylor carded a team total of 318 while Mustangs of SMU ended their round at the UT Golf Club with a team total of 325.
The Longhorns are slated to be back in action next Sunday for The Farms Collegiate Invite at the The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
