Two tournaments remain before postseason play begins for the Longhorns. The squad travels to Rancho Santa Fe over the weekend to participate in the San Diego State University Farms Invitational Tournament.
The first round of action at the Farms Golf Club will commence Easter Sunday. At the time of this publication, rosters were not available. However, Texas will look to build on their success from its first place finish in the Triangular Match held on Monday. The low round player of that event was senior Katelyn Sepmoree who shot a round of 73 at the UT Golf Club. Her and other upperclassmen such as fellow seniors Madison Pressel and Desiree Dubreuil will most likely be called to play in the upcoming tournament.
Veteran leadership may help the Longhorns in this tournament as the invitational will bolster some of the nation’s top ranked women’s golf programs including top ranked USC, No. 7 Arizona and No.22 Texas A&M.
The weather for the tournament forecasts partly to mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the low to mid-60s. Winds will sustain around 10 mph with a 10 percent chance of rain during the second and final rounds of the Invitational.
