Texas volleyball will wrap up spring play at this weekend’s Lone Star Classic College Showcase in Dallas.
After defeating Oregon in December to become national champions, the Longhorns played at the F.A.S.T. Tournament in Houston in March and two games in April. Texas defeated UTSA, LSU, Rice, New Mexico State and Wichita State this spring.
All-American outside hitter Haley Eckerman has continued to deliver on the court, posting 25 kills and five service aces against Wichita State. Rising senior outside hitter Bailey Webster led Texas in defeating New Mexico State in a 5-0 sweep. Rising sophomore Amy Neal has seen significant playing time and took the court to add 10 kills against Wichita State.
Saturday’s showcase will feature several other Texas teams including TCU, Texas Tech and Texas A&M, as well as teams from surrounding states, with each team participating in at least three matches.
