On Saturday, Texas men’s tennis went 1-1 in pre-qualifying in Tulsa, Okla. Junior Jacoby Lewis advanced on straight sets (6-4, 6-1) over Oral Roberts’ Parker Allen. And junior Clement Homs fell in three sets (6-7(4), 7-6(6), 5-7) to Northwestern’s Konrad Zieba.
On Sunday, senior David Holiner started action after receiving a first round bye on Saturday. Holiner defeated UTSA’s Tomas Stillman (7-6, 3-6, 7-6) and Hawaii’s Danilo Casanova (1-6, 6-2, 6-1) to advance to face Oystein Steiro of UNC for a spot in the qualifier draw on Monday.
Lewis advanced to the third round, where he fell to Drake’s Matt Frost in three sets (6-1, 5-7, 6-2) after besting Northwestern’s Alex Pasareanu in straight sets (6-4, 7-6(5)).
On Monday, Nick Naumann takes on No. 98 Quinten Monahagen of Notre Dame. George Goldhoff plays a pre-qualifier winner. Adrien Berkowicz drew No. 110 Brandon Fickey of Tennesee. No. 93 Sudanwa Sitaram squares off against No. 65 William Kallberg of Ole Miss and No. 101 Lloyd Glasspool plays No. 50 Daniel Leitner of South Alabama.
