Texas junior Will Chandler and freshman Mark Anderson finished in second and third place in the platform diving finals to conclude the UT Diving Invitational. Texas had four Longhorns competing in the 16-man event.
Chandler took second with a score of 418.40 points while Anderson placed third with 413.65 points. First place in the event went to Hawaii’s Amund Gismervik with a score of 444.75 points.
Chandler’s best dive came in the fifth round. A back three-and-a-half somersault that earned him a meet-best 84.15 points.
Freshman Michael Hiixon, who claimed the one-meter and three-meter events, finished in sixth place with 352.25 points. Junior Ryan Anthony placed eighth with 302.10 points.
The men will be back on the boards in mid-December at the USA Diving Winter National Championships in Austin. The Texas swimmers host the Texas Invitational from Dec. 5-7 at the Texas Swimming Center.
