On Wednesday the Texas athletic department unveiled a new student ticketing system that is being branded as “The Big Ticket.” The Big Ticket will replace the old LASP ticketing system.
The biggest difference with the new system is the price. The Big Ticket is listed at $175 but the list price does not include the additional $20 transaction fee, bringing the final price to a whopping $195. The most notable change to the system is that students no longer have to buy a football season ticket to ensure reserved seating. A reserved seat is included with The Big Ticket and students can form seating groups just as they did under the old system.
Aside from football, The Big Ticket allows students to simply scan their student identification cards to get into all other sport events.
Other benefits of the new system include ticket priority for the UCLA game at AT&T Stadium, the Red River Showdown against Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl and all road games.
The new system goes into effect for the 2014-2015 academic year.
