What: Motown Mondays
Where: The Highball, 1120 S. Lamar Blvd.
Time: 9 p.m. – 12 a.m.
Transport yourself back to the late ’60s with a night of Motown music courtesy of the 10-piece soul band The Nightowls. As you wait for the group to take the stage, grab one of The Highball’s specialty cocktails from the bar. If your dancing skills are a little rusty, come an hour early for free West Coast Swing dance lessons.

Tuesday, June 9
What: Trailer Food Tuesdays
Where: Long Center City Terrace, 701 W. Riverside Drive
Time: 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Once a month, 14–16 food trucks congregate at the Long Center for an evening of food, live music and games. All ages are welcome to bring a blanket, listen to live music and buy food from such trucks as The Peached Tortilla, Chi’lantro, Burro Cheese Kitchen and Whole Foods Market.

Wednesday, June 10
What: Nerd Nite
Where: The North Door, 501 Brushy St.
Time: doors open 7:30 p.m., presentations at 8 p.m.
Nerd Nite is a worldwide event during which people give 20-minute presentations about their topic of interest while the audience listens and gets drunk. The topics of this month’s presentations include wearable technology, noninvasive prenatal testing and the history of the term freak. To add to the event’s novelty, single nerds have the option of purchasing tickets for the Nerd Nite Speed-Dating event held before the show.

Thursday, June 11
Shady Grove Unplugged, The Oh Hellos perform
Where: Shady Grove, 1625 Barton Springs Road
Time: 8 p.m.
Siblings-turned-bandmates Maggie and Tyler Heath make up the folk rock group The Oh Hellos, set to perform at Shady Grove as a part of a weekly concert series. Attendees can bring a towel and sit in the grass or grab a table and order discounted drinks while listening to the folk rock duo’s electric set. The first 10 Subarus to enter the parking lot get a reserved parking spot.

Friday, June 12
What: All Night Long: The Action Pack’s 80s Video Dance Party
Where: The Highball, 1120 S. Lamar Blvd.
Time: 10:30 p.m. – 2 a.m.
The Action Pack, a branch of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema that puts on interactive events, is hosting an ’80s-themed dance party. Attendees should arrive clad in ’80s attire and ready to dance to Michael Jackson and Madonna music videos all night long.

Saturday, June 13
What: The Radio One Year Anniversary Party
Where: Radio Coffee & Beer, 4208 Manchaca Road
Time: 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.
To celebrate its first anniversary, South Austin café Radio Beer & Coffee is throwing a party with performances by Sweet Spirit, Danny Malone, Phoebe Hunt, Big Thief and the Minor Mishap Marching Band. To accompany the music, JuiceLand, Veracruz All-Natural and Arlo’s, a vegan food truck, will be selling food and drinks to all hungry attendees.

What: Steady Rock Steady Sundays
Where: Hotel San Jose, 1316 S. Congress Ave.
Time: 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Take a seat on the concrete of a South Congress parking lot and let the relaxing sounds of Jamaican music cleanse your palate after a weekend of late nights and loud crowds. Sunday afternoon, DJ jLA Soul will spin vinyls from various Jamaican subgenres, such as Rocksteady, Reggae and Dub outside of Hotel San Jose.
