Who: Dawn and Hawkes    

Where: Stubb's

When: Thursday 9:30 p.m.

Cost: $10

Austin-based duo Dawn and Hawkes had one EP under their belt before auditioning for “The Voice” in 2014. Miranda Dawn and Chris Hawkes skyrocketed to fame after their audition song “I’ve Just Seen A Face” rose to the top of the iTunes rock chart. Despite being eliminated from “The Voice,” the band recorded their first full-length album and plan to release it later this year. The singer-songwriters combine blues, country and folk influences to create energetic feel-good songs such as “Holler” and “A Catch."

Who: Say Anything

Where: Historic Scoot Inn

When: Friday 6:30 p.m.

Cost: $19

Californian Max Bemis started pop punk band Say Anything while still in high school. Although multiple band members have come and gone since then, Bemis makes up the heart of the band. Personal lyrics and influences from bands such as Blink 182 can be heard in many of the band’s songs. The band released their sixth album, Hebrews in June 2014. A departure from their previous records, Hebrews was recorded with sixteen guest vocalists and without guitars.

Who: Rosie Flores

Where: The Continental Club

When: Saturday 11:55 p.m.

Cost: $10

Rockabilly singer Rosie Flores has been in the music business since high school. More than 40 years and 11 albums later, Flores hasn’t quit. Despite being a San Antonio native, the Austin City Council gave Flores her own day in August of 2006 and was inducted into the Austin Music Hall of Fame a year later. It was the song “Crying Over You” from Flores’ first album that put her on the map, and songs such as “Drugstore Rock n’ Roll” from her latest album, Working Girl’s Guitar, show she hasn’t lost her energy or her style.

Who: Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds

Where: Parish Underground

When: Friday 9 p.m.

Cost: $12

Seven-piece band, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds, never stops touring. After releasing their self-titled album in 2010, the band has played over 150 shows a year. Formed by a brother, a sister, and their friends, the band’s history translates into their arrangements and lyrics. The blues band released their third full length album, The Weather Below, in May of this year. With Lumineers and Vance Joy producer Ryan Hadlock on board, songs such as “Borderline” and “Mama Knows” are vibrant and more confident than the band’s previous releases.
