Update (2:50PM): FORT WORTH – The Longhorns woes continued in the second half, with TCU scoring 13 additional points.

Texas managed to score a touchdown when junior quarterback Tyrone Swoopes connected with a 21-yard touchdown to Lorenzo Joe.

The Longhorn defense gave up 604 yards against the Horned Frogs while the offense only managed 313 total yards.

With the 50-7 loss, Texas falls to 1-4, its worst record since 1956.

Update (12:50PM): FORT WORTH – Senior linebacker Peter Jinkens threw TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin to the ground on the Horned Frogs opening drive. The stop by Jinkens forced TCU to a three and out.

But the Longhorns’ good fortunes quickly faded. Senior wide receiver Daje Johnson fumbled the ball on Texas’ first drive after a gruesome hit. The Horned Frogs capitalized with a touchdown to take a 7-0 lead.

TCU forced the Longhorns to a three-and-out on the following possession. It went from bad to worse for Texas as the snap went over punter Michael Dickson’s head and through the endzone for a safety.

TCU followed the Longhorns’ mistake with a touchdown drive highlighted by a tremendous 15-yard touchdown catch from Horned Frog receiver Josh Doctson to extend the lead to 16-0.

The Horned Frogs continued their rampage with a 49-yard touchdown to KaVontae Turnpin.

The Longhorns were able to drive into Horned Frogs territory late in the second quarter but it ended with a missed field goal by senior kicker Nick Rose.

TCU added another touchdown with a 50-yard pass to Turnpin to extend its lead to 37-0.

Update (11:00 a.m.): Back-to-back heartbreak losses have the Longhorns reeling. A 1-3 start is the worst start since 1956. Through three games as the starting quarterback, redshirt freshman Jerrod Heard shows signs of being the answer at quarterback. The Longhorn defense has gradually improved after starting the season in a 38-3 loss to Notre Dame. Texas will have to play its best game of the season against No. 4 TCU if it wants to pull off a major upset and get head coach Charlie Strong's first signature win at Texas.
