Monday, Nov. 30

Molly Burch with Marcus Brown, Little Marzarn

  • Where: Cheer Up Charlies, 900 Red River St.
  • Time: 9 p.m.

Monday night at 9 p.m., Austin-based folk singer Lindsey Verill’s solo project, Little Marzarn, will perform, followed by singer-songwriter Marcus Brown at 10 p.m. Solo artist Molly Burch will close out Cheer Up Charlies’ free 21+ show with a set at 11 p.m.

Tuesday, Dec. 1

One Page Salon: A Monthly Gathering of Writers & Creators

  • Where: The North Door, 501 Brushy St.
  • Time: 7 p.m. doors

Once a month, six Austinites come together to share one page of their works-in-progress to an audience. Following the readings, pizza and drinks will be available for purchase.

Wednesday, Dec. 2

Jimmy Eat Wednesdays

  • Where: Barbarella, 611 Red River St. 
  • Time: 10 p.m.

Jam out to the angsty emo-punk classics of the mid-’90s through the late 2000s at Jimmy Eat Wednesdays, held at the bar Barbarella. This week, a collection of Austin-based bands will play for free next door at the Swan Dive, including Megan Simon, pop punk group First Year Fight, rock band Locket and indie rock trio Honey & Salt.

Thursday, Dec. 3

Open Mic Comedy Night

  • Where: The Infinite Monkey Theorem Winery, 121 Pickle Rd. #110
  • Time: 8 p.m.–10 p.m.

Enjoy nice wine and comedy with open mic host Joey Zimmerman on Thursday night at the Infinite Monkey Theorem Urban Winery. Sign-ups start at 8 p.m. and the open mic will commence at 8:30 p.m.

Space24Twenty Grand Opening with Chairlift, Kelela, Empress Of, Bayonne

  • Where: Space24Twenty, 2406 Guadalupe St.
  • Time: 6 p.m. doors, 

Celebrate the opening of Urban Outfitters’ Space24Twenty with a free live show featuring Austin-based solo project Bayonne, Washington, D.C.-based R&B solo artist Kelela and New York-based pop projects Empress Of and Chairlift. Space is limited and guests are encouraged to arrive early and pick up free wristbands in the store the day of to guarantee entry.

Saturday, Dec. 5

Top Notch Hamburgers Hot Rod Drive-In Movie Night

  • Where: Top Notch Hamburgers, 7525 Burnet Road
  • Time: 6 p.m.–10 p.m. 

Texas-based rockability band, The Octanes will play a live set outside Top Notch Hamburgers Saturday at 7 p.m followed by an outdoor drive-in movie. All ages are welcome to enjoy an array of greasy fast food as they watch a to-be-determined movie under the stars.

Sunday, Dec. 6

Volstead Karaoke Night

  • Where: Volstead Lounge at Hotel Vegas, 1500 E. Sixth St.
  • Time: 10 p.m.–2 a.m. 

Join hosts, DJ Rap Whistle and The Naugle, for a karaoke night at Volstead Lounge Sunday night at 10 p.m. A free drink will be granted to anyone who brings a gift for Blue Santa, a non-profit that delivers toys to families in need while wearing blue Santa costumes.
