But Texas A&M catcher Michael Barash ended it seven pitches into the bottom of the inning, smashing a 3-2 pitch over the left field wall to give the Aggies a 5-4 win in College Station.

The Longhorns had no issues getting runners on through the first eight innings on the contest; however, getting those runners home proved to be a battle. Texas got seven runners on base, but left them all on base.

The Aggies, meanwhile, made the most of their opportunities early on. Texas A&M took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning after a throwing error by Texas sophomore second baseman Joe Baker allowed two to score. Designated hitter Joel Davis then doubled the lead with a two-run home run in the fourth.

Texas finally broke onto the scoreboard in the top of the ninth. Sophomore designated hitter Patrick Mathis started the inning with a double off the right-center field wall. After the next two batters reached on a hit by pitch and walk, Clemens laced ground-rule double to left-center field to cut the lead in half.

Three batters later, with the bases loaded and two outs, Boswell sent the first pitch of the at bat back up the middle to tie the game at four apiece.

But the comeback ended up all for naught.

Senior pitcher Ty Culbreth, usually a starter for the Longhorns, took to the mound for the bottom of the ninth. But Barash turned on the seventh pitch of the at-bat, sending it out for a walk-off home run and sending the majority of the 6,965 fans at Blue Bell Park into a frenzy.

The two teams had to be separated as the Aggies celebrated their 125th win against the Longhorns. Texas still leads the all-time series 242–125–5.

The Longhorns return to Austin on Friday to face Tulane in their last three-game non-conference series this season.
