Whether or not you’ve hopped on the green beer bandwagon, Austin has you covered this St. Patrick’s Day. Check out these five events to celebrate the Irish.
St. Patrick’s Day Austin
When: 3 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Where: 10621 Pioneer Farms Dr.
Admission: $15 adults, $5 kids
For $15, take part in the family-friendly side of St. Patrick’s Day with live Irish music and dancing. Authentic groups such as bagpipe band Silver Thistle Pipes and Drums and Clickety Cloggers, an Appalachian-style clogging troop. Food, drink and face painting will also be available during the festival that plans to operate rain or shine.

Pinthouse Pizza
When: 11 a.m. – 12 a.m.
Where: 4236 S. Lamar Blvd. or 4729 Burnet Rd.
Admission: Free
Wash down your pizza with some green beer, served all day at Pinthouse Pizza. The local pizza shop and and brewpub will celebrate their roots with performances scattered throughout the day from Austin’s Silver Thistle Pipes & Drums Band.

If you’re on the East Side looking for a St. Patrick’s Day fix, head over to Haymaker. The southern comfort food restaurant will be serving green beer, Guinness, corned beef and cabbage all day long.

Admission: Free
Celebrate St. Patrick on the Threadgill’s patio for KVET's South By St. Patty's Party. Twelve live acts are set to perform during the day party, including country singers Sunny Sweeney and Bonnie Bishop.

If you’re looking for green beer, B.D. Riley’s is not the place to go. Walk into the local pub for a more authentic experience full of Irish food and Irish music all day long. Fiddler Sean Orr will end the night with a full-band set.
