The Longhorns welcome Red River rivals Oklahoma and No. 17 Oklahoma State to Austin this weekend where they’ll continue Big 12 conference play.
The Longhorns have been undefeated against Oklahoma since 2003 but hasn’t won a match against Oklahoma State since 2013.
Senior Breaunna Addison has also held a steady record this season. The two-time All-American won her 100th match Sunday afternoon in the win over Northwestern.
Texas will first take on Oklahoma State on Friday. The Cowgirls boast a three-match winning streak right now and are 14-4 overall after defeating No. 21 Tulsa on Tuesday. Oklahoma State brings in three ranked players, No. 33 Katarina Adamovic, No. 38 Vladica Babic and No. 62 Viktoriya Lushkova. The Cowgirls also have three top-50 doubles tandems.
Texas’s single ranked player, Addison, is positioned higher than all of OSU’s at No. 12 in the ITA rankings, and the Longhorn doubles duo of Addison and sophomore Dani Wagland is also positioned better at No. 17.
The Longhorns will return to Whitaker courts on Sunday for their second match against unranked Oklahoma. Regardless of rank, the Sooners clinched their sixth shutout of the season last week against West Virginia, 4-0.
Before traveling to Texas, Oklahoma will stop in Waco to compete against Baylor.
OU and OSU each hold a 2-0 conference record after both teams defeated West Virginia and Iowa State. Texas is 1-1 in conference play.
Friday’s contest against Oklahoma State starts at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s match against Oklahoma will begin at noon.
