Sophomore Sophia Schubert carded a three-under par score, helping the Longhorns finish the first round of the PING/ASU Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Schubert, who is five shots back of UCLA’s Bronte Law on the individual leaderboard, has now been at or under par in 12 of her 15 rounds this season.
Junior Anne Hakula finished the round at two-over par and in a tie for 30th, while fellow junior Julia Beck sits one shot back at three-over par and in a tie for 33rd.
Junior Haley Mills ended her first round with a five-over par and in a tie for 47th, and senior Natalie Karcher carded a score of seven-over par and is tied for 60th.
The Longhorns are 14 shots back of leader UCLA, who is at seven-under par.
The second round will start at 10 a.m. CDT on Saturday.
