As the semester comes to a close, student and campus organizations are hosting a variety of events that showcase the diverse talents, breadth of ideas and important causes that UT is home to. Below, The Daily Texan compiled a list of four events on campus to check out before the school year ends.
Sustainable Food Fest
As part of an Earth Week initiative promoting environmental consciousness, the Sustainable Food Fest will feature the UT Microfarm and Campus Environmental Center in a multi-faceted celebration of sustainable agriculture. Fresh produce and cooked local food will be on sale by various student organizations. Pick up some produce for the week and learn about health, wellness and the environmental benefits that stem from sustainability.
When: Thursday, April 21, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

VR Fest
The continual research into virtual reality has blurred the line between technology and human experience. Hosted by Design for America, a national network of students who focus on humanizing the tech experience, the event will feature VR demos and professionals discussing the future of the industry, focusing on human-centered design.
When: Friday, April 22, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Texas Revue
Texas Revue showcases an array of talents both from UT and around the Austin area with performances from student organizations ranging from South Asian dance groups to a performance from local singer-songwriter Jefferson Clay. In the past, judges have included UT faculty, local artists and business owners in the film industry.

Longhorn Startup Demo Day
This event is hosted by Longhorn Startup Seminar and will showcase a variety of undergraduate startups from Spring 2016. Longhorn Startup Demo Day will feature interviews with successful Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and has hosted guests such as owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, in the past. Many of the startups on display are application-based and relevant to students’ needs on and off campus.
