Former Texas track and field star Sanya Richards-Ross makes her way back to the 40 Acres next week to give a speech hosted by Campus Events and Entertainment.
Richards-Ross will speak Sept. 21 in the SAC in an event titled “Navigating the Business of Success.”
Richards-Ross had plenty of success during her athletic career. She won the National Championship in the 400-meters during her freshman year in 2003.
But her time as a Longhorn was relatively short-lived. She left Texas after her sophomore year in 2004 to turn professional. She took home a gold medal in the 4×400-meter relay in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.
By the end of her career, Ross ran away with five Olympic medals — four of which were gold. She traded in her running shoes for a microphone this summer as she contributed to NBC’s coverage of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
The event is free to all students with a UT ID and takes place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
