    Big 12 Notebook: Week 10

    • TCU blows out Baylor
    •  
    • The biggest surprise in the Big 12 this weekend came in Waco, when TCU upset then No. 17 Baylor 62-22. 
    •  
    • The game was close early on, but TCU pulled away late in the first and scored 21 unanswered points and remained in the lead till the end of the game. 
    •  
    • The Horned Frogs dominated on the ground, putting up 431 total rushing yards and scoring six rushing touchdowns. At the same time, TCU did well in limiting Baylor’s run game, allowing only 133 rushing yards for 3 yards per attempt.

    • The rout provided a much needed win for TCU, who had gone 1-3 in its last four games, and led to the Horned Frog’s bowl hopes being revived. For Baylor, this is its second loss in as many weeks and though they already have bowl eligibility, its upcoming schedule has many tough tests for them. The Bears will face Oklahoma in Norman Saturday, while TCU has a bye.

    • Oklahoma State holds off Kansas State

    • Oklahoma State survived in Manhattan, Kansas to beat Kansas State 43-37. The game went back and forth almost all four quarters, with Kansas State pulling out to a nine-point lead only to let Oklahoma State score 15 unanswered points late in the fourth to win. Kansas State had a chance to score and win with a promising final drive, but penalties and an interception sealed the Cowboys victory. Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph once again shined with 457 passing yards and five touchdowns, while Kansas State rushed for 345 yards.

    • Oklahoma State has now won five in a row and they’ll continue their for the Big 12 title next week when they host Texas Tech. Kansas State will have a bye next week.

    • Oklahoma, West Virginia add to win tally

    • Oklahoma kicked off the week’s Big 12 play as it took on Iowa State on Thursday night. Once again, Sooner quarterback Baker Mayfield and wide receiver Dede Westbrook shined in their 34-24 victory. 
    •  
    • Mayfield threw four touchdowns, one to Westbrook, and controlled time of possession in the second half to pull out a win. Iowa State briefly had a lead in the second quarter, but were unable to maintain it and keep up with the Sooners.

    • In a 48-21 defeat, Kansas once again fell to a conference team Saturday, this time to West Virginia in Morgantown, West Virginia, making it their 40th straight road loss. 
    •  
    • The Mountaineers went into halftime with an insurmountable 31-0 lead, but the Jayhawks were able to score behind touchdowns from quarterback Carter Stanley and running back Ke’aun Kinner. West Virginia, for its part, ended the day with 341 rushing yards and 264 passing yards.

    • Three Big 12 Teams Ranked in Playoff Poll

    • In the second college football playoff poll, three Big 12 teams were ranked, all in the top 20.

    • Oklahoma rose three spots to No. 11, while Oklahoma State climbed five spots to No. 13. West Virginia rounds out the group at No. 16, a four spot bump. Baylor was ranked No. 20 in the last ranking, but dropped out completely after its loss to TCU.
