A UT student was sexually assaulted early Sunday morning at Clark Field.
UT Police Department Spokeswoman Cindy Posey said the assailant was not a UT student.
The student went to the hospital after the incident occurred, Posey said. The hospital then reported the assault to the Austin Police Department who contacted UTPD early this afternoon around 1 p.m.
Posey said UTPD is now taking the lead on the case.
UTPD sent out an email about the assault just after 2:30 and has requested that anyone with information about the case contact them.
“Please encourage anyone with information to assist us in keeping the campus safe,” UTPD said in the email.
The case is still under investigation. This story will be updated as more information is released.
